Everything we sell is inspected for defects. Our paragliders are visually instected, porosity tested, line symmetry checked and repaired as needed. We won't sell anything we won't personally fly.

John Ivey

BIO: John Ivey has been flying hang gliders, paragliders and powered paragliders since 1997. He holds an Advanced Pilot’s rating (PARA 4) and is a USHPA Certified Paragliding Instructor. John founded Thermal Up Paragliding in Hawaii, Rogue Valley Paragliding LLC in Medford, Oregon and FLYGEAR clothing.

1997: Learned to fly hang gliders with Rob McKenzie at Crestline in San Bernadino, Ca.

2000: Learned to fly paragliders with Len Szafaryn at Crestline in San Bernadino, Ca.

2003: Learned to fly powered paragliders with Bill Heaner in Hilo, Hawaii.

2005: Opened Thermal Up Paragliding in Hawaii.

2006: Opened Rogue Valley Paragliding in Medford, Oergon

2007: Started FLYGEAR clothing
